William C. Turner
Born in Ravenna, Ohio he started attending church with his parents at the age of five after a Baptist Pastor knocked on their door. At eight years of age, Pastor trusted Christ as his personal Saviour during a Sunday evening service.
Pastor and his wife, Melanie, met in High School and were married shortly after Pastor graduated from Business College. Pastor and Melanie served in many areas of their church when the Lord called him to preach during a Bible conference.
Pastor earned a degree in Theology from Bethel Baptist Institute. After serving on the staff of Bethel Baptist Church in Ravenna, Ohio for several years, they moved to Lima, Ohio, in 2005 to answer the call to pastor at Open Door Baptist Church.
The Lord has blessed Open Door Baptist Church in many ways. Pastor believes in taking a Biblical approach to life and all the ministries at the church are geared towards reaching the unsaved and building Christians through the Word of God. Pastor is known for his passionate preaching and his love for people.
Pastor's wife, Melanie, is a woman of great character who stands beside her husband in the service of the Lord. She has a deep love of The Bible and leads our women's ministries.
Pastor and Melanie have two children, Amber who is married to Klint, and they serve The Lord at Open Door Baptist Church. Their son William, who is married to Taylor, is an Associate Pastor at Bethel Baptist Church in Ravenna, Ohio. They also have seven grandchildren, Hannah, Kolton, William IV, Weston and Preston.
Born in Akron, Ohio he was privileged to be born into a Christian home. Having been raised from an infant under the preaching of the Bible he came to realize his need for a Saviour at the young age of four. He was led to the Lord by his mother one night as he lay in bed under the deep conviction of sin.
While he enjoyed a godly heritage of being raised in a good, fundamental Baptist church and attending a Christian elementary school, he found himself drifting far from the Lord during his teen years in public school. It was at nineteen years old after graduating high school that he was brought to place of rededication on a very hot Sunday morning under the preaching of God's Word.
As he grew in his dedication and service to the Lord he was invited to participate in a missionís trip to Mongolia. It was there on that trip that Robert surrendered to the call of God on his life to the full time ministry. Returning from that trip he withdrew from engineering school and enrolled in Bible College. Robert graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Theology from the Massillon Baptist College and has done post graduate studies at Bethel Baptist Institute.
Robert served for twelve years on the staff of Bethel Baptist Church in Ravenna, Ohio until 2007 when he answered the call to come to Open Door Baptist Church in Lima, Ohio to be their Assistant and Youth Pastor.
Robert is married to the love of his life, Tawni and they have the cutest dog ever, Tippy.
